Speed and versatility
If you require a scan quickly, then the 8800F can scan a 300dpi sheet of A4 in as little as 7 seconds. With USB 2.0 connectivity and no warmup time, the whole process is made far more time efficient. As well as scanning documents at up to A4 size, the included film adapter unit can allow scans of up to twelve 35mm film strips and four 35mm mounted slides in a single operation. The film adaptor unit is also compatible with 120 film (max 6x22cm).
Useful and intuitive design
The 8800F has the ability to scan straight to email or PDF to take away the hassle of converting your files. Accurate Optical Character Recognition software can also convert typed documents to editable text. With ease of use in mind, Canon have provided seven "EZ scan" buttons for the most frequently used scan methods. Four of these are dedicated to scanning to PDF, including scanning to colour or monochrome.
Multi-photo mode
Allows scanning of up to 10 separate images in a single pass, filing each separately. Multi-Photo automatically identifies, crops and straightens multiple images. It even recognises the type of original you use, whether film or photo.
Auto image correction
Includes scratch, damage and fade repair software (ie FARE Level 3 for film, QARE Level 3 for prints). Also includes ScanGear software for correction of exposure on backlit images and smoothing of grainy images.
